Augusta Fire announced that after testing more than 600 people for COVID-19, they are expanding their public testing to its third event on May 22. “The people of Augusta continue to come out and take advantage of these events, which is a great thing,” said Fire Chief/EMA Director Christopher E. James. “We will continue to target overlooked neighborhoods and give people access to testing for this dangerous virus.” The testing even will be held at Good Shepherd Baptist Church located at 1714 Olive Rd. from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Walk-ups will be accepted but Augusta Fire says pre-registration is strongly encouraged to avoid long wait times.
