Fire crews fought a blaze Tuesday morning at a vacant apartment building in southwest Atlanta, five months after a “suspicious” fire caused damaged to the same complex. When they arrived at the building in the 1900 block of Alison Court, heavy smoke and fire could already be seen, Atlanta Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Matt Driver told AJC.com.
Firefighters got the blaze under control quickly, Driver said. No one was inside at the time. “The property has been vacant for several years now,” Driver said. The blaze comes months after Atlanta authorities opened an investigation into a fire at the vacant complex. The fire department received that call December 18, spokesman Sgt. Cortez Stafford said.
