VIDEO: On Saturday, a 12-year-old joined together with EMS, firefighters, police officers and more to honor Savannah's fallen first responders with a run around Forsyth Park. Sgt. Jason Pagliaro with the Savannah Police Department said, "He truly cares about first responders and for us, that’s a huge honor." 12-year-old Zechariah Cartledge created the nonprofit Running 4 Heroes, which gives monthly grants to injured first responders, safety supplies to K9 units and so much more. "I run a mile for every police officer and firefighter who loses their life in the line of duty," Cartledge said. Ordinarily, his one mile run is for a specific officer, but his trip around Forsyth Park Saturday evening was a little different. "Officers, firefighters, doctors, EMTs, any first responder who has lost their life in the Savannah area, this run is dedicated towards them," Cartledge said.
