A major accident on I-75 South before Emerson-Allatoona Road caused major delays Wednesday afternoon. Georgia State Patrol told 11Alive the incident happened at approximately 12:50 p.m. when a Fed-EX truck pulling two trailers was traveling south on I-75 near mile marker 281. Georgia 511 reported a travel alert detailing all lanes being closed and encouraged drivers to use an alternative route. The truck traveled into the median and down to Joe Stella Drive located below the interstate. The truck burst into flames causing visible damage to I-75 overpass bridge. There were no reported injuries from this accident.
