VIDEO: An explosion set fire to a wood pellet warehouse Sunday night at the Port of Brunswick at the intersection of Newcastle Street and 3rd Avenue, Brunswick Fire Chief Randy Mobley confirmed to The Brunswick News. Firefighters got the call about the explosion and resulting fire at about 8 p.m. News4Jax received a video of the warehouse collapsing around 10:30 p.m. Flames were still seen coming from the roof of the warehouse at dawn on Monday. The explosion blew out the water main, according to Savannah Fire’s special operations chief. Water was being pumped out of the river to fight the fire. The fire was the result of spontaneous combustion said Alex Eaton, director of the Glynn County Emergency Management Agency. Eaton told the newspaper the fire was the result of heat build-up inside massive piles of wood pellets.
