On Tuesday, October 12th, Bibb County Commissioners met for the first time in weeks. On the hefty agenda was an item about upgrading the county's fire training facility.
The Macon-Bibb Fire Department is hoping to revamp their training facility to something that all of Middle Georgia can use.
The current training facility on Tinker Drive has been 'gearing up' firefighters for over 35 years. But, with every graduating class, the facility takes on a little more wear and tear.
A couple months ago, county commissioners and the fire department toured the new fire training facility in Warner Robins after it opened recently. "It was able to show what we were wanting in the future, what needs we had, and where we wanted to take the training complex in the future," said Interim Fire Chief of the Macon-Bibb Fire Department, Shane Edwards.
