Firefighters in Atkinson County recently got an equipment upgrade. The Atkinson County Fire Department says that new fire hose has arrived. The Fire Works Tax Grant awarded the department $19,000 which was used to replace hose on two engines located at station 2 in Willacoochee. The hose being replaced was worn, damaged and unsafe to responders. The Atkinson County Fire Departments says that they "are thankful for the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council, (GFSTC) for consideration and Award."
