Guam's emergency responders investigated a deadly car crash Saturday afternoon on Route 4A in Talofofo.
Sgt. Paul Tapao, Guam Police Department spokesman, said the 70-year-old driver was pronounced dead after he was rushed to the hospital.
The man was driving a Toyota Venza that ran off the road and collided with a utility pole, Tapao said.
Tapao said four people were taken to the hospital. Initially Guam Fire Department reported five occupants of the car were transported to Naval Hospital Guam.
The driver was found pulseless and breathless, said GFD spokesman and firefighter Kevin Reilly.
Units responded to a report of an accident near Onward Talofofo Golf Club, according to Reilly.
Medics were dispatched at 12:50 p.m.
CPR was performed on the driver at the scene and en route to the hospital, Reilly said.
