Two cyclists were injured when they tried to avoid hitting a cow as they were headed down on a sharp curve near the Last Command Post in Marpi on Tuesday afternoon. The Department of Public Safety is trying to locate the owner of the cow, DPS spokesman Dre Pangelinan said. One of the two cyclists said the cow appeared from the right side —the cyclists’ blind spot — to cross the road. One of the cyclists avoided the cow, but he fell face down and lost consciousness. The other cyclist hit the cow and was flung from his seat. He managed to call 911 to report the incident. He said the responding police officer told him that “it is very hard to identify the owner of the cow as there are many ranches in the area.” The two cyclists were then brought to the hospital by paramedics.
