The cause of a house fire in Gualo Rai last Monday that left eight people homeless remains undetermined, with investigators of the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services still sifting through the scene for clues. According to a DFEMS statement yesterday, it received a call last Monday at 1:13am from the Department of Public Safety’s 911 dispatch reporting of a structure fire in Gualo Rai behind Subway. At 1:15am, rescue and medical teams from the Susupe, Garapan, and Kagman fire stations were dispatched to the site, with the first units arriving at the scene at about 1:22am. The fire was reportedly controlled at 2:10am. No person was injured and no treatment was provided at the scene for medical complaints. The DFEMS units confirmed that the structure was already fully engulfed when they got there. Fire crews continued to suppress the fire to prevent it from traveling or damaging other homes near it.
