Firefighters extinguish blaze that engulfed Waipahu warehouse

Firefighters have put out a blaze that broke out in a Waipahu warehouse Sunday afternoon. The fire at West Oahu Roofing at 94-170 Leoole St. was reported shortly before 1 p.m. Some 11 units and 36 personnel were dispatched to the scene, which is across the street from Fire Station 12. Officials say the building was fully involved. The fire was contained at 1:30 p.m. and fully extinguished just before 2:45 p.m. The business was closed at the time of the fire, and no injuries have been reported. Officials say the building did have working smoke alarms, but did not have fire sprinklers. The fire is under investigation.
