Honolulu firefighters responded to a wildland fire on Kunia Road approximately 200 yards north of Anonui Street Tuesday. The first HFD unit arrived at 2:18 p.m. and personnel established command, requested additional resources, and initiated a fire attack to extinguish the flames and prevent further fire spread. The fire was reported to be contained at 2:59 p.m. after four fires were found and a total of a half-acre burned. No structures were threatened by the fire and no injuries were reported for this incident. The Fire Department has determined that the fire was intentionally set and it has been handed over to the Honolulu Police Department for further investigation. No damages were reported for this fire.
