Honolulu firefighters responded to a building fire at 140 Ohana Street. The first unit arrived at 2:52 a.m. to find a one-story dwelling with a garage and light smoke emanating from the garage. The fire was brought under control at 2:58 a.m. and was fully extinguished at 3:11 a.m. The property had three occupants total including an adult male and female from the main family home. The third man in the dwelling at the time was also a tenant. All three occupants escaped without injuries. The fire is under investigation and a cause has not yet been determined. Fire damages were confined to the garage area and are estimated at $50,000 to the structure and $15,000 to its contents. No injuries were reported for this incident. The unit did have working smoke detectors but it did not have fire sprinklers.
