Nine people in Kalihi are without a home after a fire broke out in the area. The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a call on Kealia Drive and found a single-story house engulfed in flames. No one was home at the time except for a dog that was rescued. A neighbor told KITV4 the heat was so strong he could feel it down the street. "I smelled the smoke and I didn't think nothing of it. Five Minutes later, I look up at the direction the smoke was coming from and there was flames already on the roof so I drop everything and run and call the fire department and run next door and try to evacuate the people from the home," said neighbor John Keaulana. Keaulana also helped neighbors get out of their homes safely.
