The state’s mandatory 14-day quarantine went into effect on Thursday for incoming travelers on all international and domestic flights.
It’s all a part of Gov. David Ige’s new order that was issued in a race to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
But some are wondering how it will be enforced.
It starts with filling out a form.
“The flight crew will make an announcement informing them of new quarantine rules and they’ll be handed the agricultural form," said Maj. Gen. Kenneth Hara, the state’s adjutant general. "Once they get off the aircraft, they’ll be met at a location where agents will verify their identification with their ID card and verify the form is completed properly,”
Certain travelers are not affected, including those on interisland flights, essential workers, emergency responders and flight crews. Visitors who are already here are also not impacted.
