Forty-eight firefighters responded to a wildland fire at West Lock Drive and Iroquois Road on Sept. 16. When responders arrived just before 11 a.m., they found a working fire and worked to prevent it from spreading. The fire was 75 percent contained around 1:48 p.m. and extinguished just before 5 p.m. The fire department does not yet know how many acres have been scorched. There were also no threatened structures or vehicles. Fire investigators are investigating the cause of the fire. Iroquois Rd. between Keanui Dr. to West Loch Dr. was temporarily closed during the fire, but since then has been opened up.
