Honolulu Fire Department rescues lost hikers from the Manana Trail in Pearl City

The Honolulu Fire Department responded to two male hikers in distress near the Manana Trail in Pearl City on Sunday. HFD responded to find the two hikers lost but unharmed. They were airlifted to a nearby landing zone around 6:08 p.m. Hiking safety tips, according to HFD: Compare your level of fitness, ability, and experience with the trail description. There are a wide variety of trails in Hawai‘i, so pick one that suits your level; Be practical and realistic; Ensure you stay hydrated to avoid heat exhaustion, becoming disoriented, and muscle cramps.
