All lanes were back open on Wednesday afternoon following a three-car crash on westbound H-1 Freeway near Aiea.
Honolulu Police (HPD) officers and Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called out to crash on the westbound side of the H-1, just past the Kaonohi Street overpass, around 12:30 p.m.
The crash caused police to close the two left lanes on the freeway. In an update just after 2:30 p.m., officials with the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) said all lanes were back open.
The crash reportedly involved three vehicles, including a trash truck. According to EMS, three people suffered serious injuries in the crash. The injured individuals have only been identified as a 43-year-old man, a 40-year-old man, and a 36-year-old woman.
