No injuries were reported in a hog barn fire this morning west of Milford. Milford Fire Chief Jim Carpenter tells KUOO news firefighters were called to the scene about three miles west of Milford on County Road A-34 around 9:30 this (Wed.) morning. "On our arrival we saw curtains that were melting a little bit on the east side, the northeast corner. The guys went in, found a fire in there, had some methane that was lighting across the floor. Extinguished the methane and then went to work on the ceiling and in a very short time had it out. We called Lake Park for assistance because of the nature of the area and the call." Carpenter says the explosion was a result of a build-up of methane gas in the building.
