The Keokuk Fire Department is investigating what happened to playground equipment in a park. Just before 4 p.m. the Keokuk Fire Department responded to a call that playground equipment in the Hawkeye Village in Keokuk was on fire. Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered that playground equipment, along with the rubber matting under the playground were burning. Some of the trees near the playground were also on fire. It took about one thousand gallons of water to put the fire out. The Fire is under investigation by both the Keokuk Fire Department and the Keokuk Police Department.
