VIDEO: The fire department in Solon says it's time for them to move, and it could cost more than $4 million to do so. Members of the Tri-Township Fire Department say they are not asking the town's taxpayers to front the bill- instead, they are looking for donations. Made up of 35 volunteers, the fire department headquartered in Solon, debuted their plans to move from the downtown area to a lot they already own near the Dairy Queen on Prairie Rose Lane. The lot was purchased by the Solon/Tri-Township Emergency Response Agency. The fire department also serves the townships of Big Grove, Cedar, and Newport.
