VIDEO: An eastern Iowa firefighter critically injured in a blaze and subsequent explosion at a grain storage facility is “fighting for his life,” family members said in a statement Thursday. Clinton fire Lt. Eric Hosette, 33, died Saturday while fighting the fire at the Archer Daniels Midland facility in Clinton. Fellow firefighter Adam Cain was taken to a hospital in Iowa City in critical condition. Despite the city administrator saying in a news release that Cain’s condition was improving Sunday -- he was breathing on his own, awake and alert -- his family members said the notion that he would be released from the hospital anytime soon “could not be (further) from the truth.”
