Authorities say a fire at a home in Morningside is being investigated for arson.
The fire was reported just after 4:30 p.m. on Peters Ave., near the South Lakeport intersection.
Firefighters say there was no one in the home at the time of the fire and that's part of what made them suspicious about its nature.
"Upon further investigation, it looks like we have an arson fire and we have some investigators on the way," says Dan Cougill, Assistant Fire Chief of Sioux City. "The home is unoccupied and it's for sale. Some minor renovation going on, but there is little damage in the home and the fire appears to be deliberately set."
No one was hurt in the fire.
