Minor injuries were reported early this (Mon.) morning in a garage and house fire in Lake Park. Fire Chief Brandon Ehret says the Lake Park Fire Department was called to 604 Market Street around 3:18 am. "Upon arrival the garage was fully involved and was getting into the house. There was another kind of small apartment building to the south side of the garage that also caught fire, we were able to get that put out. Major damage to the house. The house is a total loss. The garage is completely gone and that building to the south is considered a total loss as well. Everybody got out. It sounds like maybe there was a couple of dogs that might not have made it, and some other animals in the house, too." Ehret says two occupants in the house were taken by private vehicle to Lakes Regional Healthcare for treatment of minor burns and smoke inhalation. No injuries were reported to any of the firefighters.
