Ottumwa firefighters responded to a call at Camelot Towers on Sunday, September 13th around 5:48 p.m. When they arrived they found heavy smoke was coming from the windows of an apartment on the 7th floor. Crews quickly started their attack and started searching for any possible victims, but no one was found. Firefighters were quickly able to put out the fire within ten minutes. The cause of the fire was a burner on the stovetop being left on. The apartment is uninhabitable at this time and the damage is estimated at $10,000. The American Red Cross is assisting the occupant of the apartment.
