VIDEO: The Iowa Department of Transportation says a Motor Vehicle Enforcement officer was lucky to walk away from a crash that destroyed a DOT vehicle. The crash happened Wednesday along Interstate 29 in southwest Iowa. The DOT said a commercial vehicle struck the officer's vehicle while the officer was providing traffic control. “This is happening WAY too much. Luckily our MVE officer walked away from this crash with only minor injuries, but it could have been so much worse,” DOT officials said on Facebook. “If you're on the road PLEASE watch out and move over/slow down when you see ANY flashing lights ahead. We're out there to help you.” DOT officials said the officer had only minor injuries in the incident.
