A fire caused extensive damage to a home Monday morning on U.S. Highway 95 and Carscallen Road north of Potlatch, according to the Latah County Sheriff’s Office.
The cause of the blaze was most likely a heat lamp in the basement, according to the LCSO. Potlatch volunteer firefighters and Bennett Lumber Products headed toward the residence, which was unoccupied at the time, around 8:20 a.m. and stayed on the scene until about noon.
