Three cats and one dog died in a recreational vehicle that caught fire Thursday afternoon off Carmichael Road on the eastern edge of the Moscow city limits. Moscow Volunteer Fire Department Chief Brian Nickerson said the woman who lived in the roughly 20-foot RV suffered minor smoke inhalation but was not transported to the hospital. Nickerson said the fire is believed to have sparked from an electrical issue. He said the woman was the only person inside when the fire started and she was able to rescue one cat before exiting the vehicle. Nickerson said the Moscow Volunteer Rural Fire District was dispatched to the scene at 4:54 p.m. The fire took about 10 minutes to get under control but firefighters stayed on scene for about two and a half hours.
