VIDEO: The city reached tentative salary agreements with the unions representing Pocatello police and firefighters on Wednesday, signaling an end to a contentious negotiation period that has lasted several months. The tense bargaining process between the city and the Pocatello police union ended during a hearing Wednesday morning at City Hall with the police union accepting the city’s offer of a 5 percent annual pay increase for all Pocatello police officers and a promotion bonus for those at the lower compensation level for their rank. The Pocatello firefighters union accepted an offer from the city on Wednesday afternoon that will give each member of the Pocatello Fire Department a 6 percent annual pay hike without any promotion bonuses. "We’re glad to be finished,” said Andy Moldenhauer, the Pocatello firefighters union president."
