A local firefighter is making history among her peers at the Boise Fire Department. Boise Fire says it's promoted Ashley Rosenbaum, a 12-year member of the BFD, and is now the first woman fire captain in the department. She's been with Boise Fire since 2007. “Ashley is a great firefighter and will be a great leader. Her great attitude and work ethic were recognized early on here at Boise Fire and since she has been hired she has continued to show her strength and dedication to this job. She is great role model and a huge asset to the department,” said Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan. Rosenbaum will be promoted at Station 17 (3801 S. Cole Road) on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
