Flames engulfed a Basic American Foods garage on the Madison-Fremont County line at 5:16 p.m. Thursday. There were no injuries.
Crews from the South Fremont Fire District and the Madison Fire Department responded and helped put out the fire. About 22 fire fighters assisted and were on the scene for about four hours.
The garage was a total loss. The monetary damage to the garage wasn’t immediately known.
“It was totally engulfed when we got there,” said South Fremont Fire District Fire Fighter J.D. Henry.
The fire department won’t know what caused the fire until the state fire marshal arrives on Friday.
“He’ll do his report and know more. As of right now, the cause is undetermined as to what it is,” he said.
