Damages are estimated at $75,000 after three farm buildings were destroyed by wildfire Monday.
The Madison Fire Department said a tree and vinyl fence were reported on fire at 1059 E. 10000 South in Archer at 2:06 pm
A large willow tree was part of a weekend weed burning. It apparently smoldered until Monday, when the tree caught fire and a burning branch dropped onto adjacent property. The three buildings were on that property.
The buildings included a milking barn, a maintenance shop, and a storage shed.
"This is a good reminder to everyone to burn responsibly and make sure all fire is completely extinguished prior to leaving the area," said Madison Fire Chief Corey Child.
