Bannock County reported the first death related to the coronavirus in East Idaho on Monday, and the South Central Public Health District accounted for 37 of the 66 new cases reported by health districts across the state.
Monday’s death was a 65-year-old male with an underlying health condition, according to a press release from Southeastern Idaho Public Health. The statewide death toll stands at 83, according to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. Cassia County reported 14 of the South Central district’s new cases and increased its total to 75. Ada County added six and increased its state-leading total to 762. Statewide, 2,655 confirmed cases have been reported.
