Coronavirus hospitalizations are on the rise, both here in the Gem State and across the entire United States. Above is a look at the most recent hospitalization data from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's COVID-19 data for the state. We are seeing a significant increase in hospitalizations and experts with St. Luke's say that hospitalizations are a good and neutral indicator of what's happening with COVID-19 here at home. Hospitalizations are at the highest point to date for the Gem State. With over 49 hospitals across the Gem State reporting this data, as of November 18th, 2020 - 442 people are currently hospitalized with suspected or confirmed coronavirus. Meanwhile ICU beds for 50 hospitals across the state show 89 patients hospitalized in an ICU with confirmed coronavirus. That means that there are 123 ICU beds available for the entire state as of 11/22, whose population at last check is over 1.78 million Idahoans.
