65-year-old woman rescued from house fire in Idaho Falls

The Idaho Falls Fire Department was dispatched to the 600 block of Laurelwood Avenue at 5:36 a.m. Tuesday when a homeowner called dispatch to report a fire inside her home that was coming from her living room. She reported that there was nobody else inside the home. IFFD responded with two ambulances, three engines, the ladder truck and a battalion chief. The Idaho Falls Police Department also responded. Idaho Falls Power and Intermountain Gas were dispatched to temporarily turn off utilities in the area as a safety precaution. When firefighters arrived to the single-story home with a basement, they reported a working structure fire. Engine 4 made entry and rescued a 65-year-old female who was transported by ambulance 1 to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in stable condition. There were no injuries to firefighters.
