A Boise Fire Department firefighter is in stable condition after he was found unconscious and unresponsive while he and his crew responded to a fire earlier Friday.
The City of Boise says a crew was responding to a fire on William Street just before 8 a.m.
"Upon arrival, a responding firefighter was found unconscious and unresponsive in their fire engine," the city said. "His crew immediately began lifesaving care on scene."
Officials say the firefighter, who was not identified, is currently in stable condition.
“This is the type of call you hope to never receive but we are grateful for his fellow firefighters, staff at Ada County Paramedics, and staff at St. Luke’s who were quick to respond and provide initial and ongoing lifesaving care,“ said Boise Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer.
