Damage Estimated at $150,000, Pet Lost in Lewiston House Fire

At 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, the Lewiston Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire near 14th Ave. and 20th Street. The first arriving units confirmed the fire at the 1900 block of 13th Ave. and found heavy smoke and fire showing from the main floor of the residence. Crews attacked the fire, knocked it down, and confirmed that no one was in the residence. There were animals in the residence, and all but one were able to get out. Crews remained on the scene to check for hot spots and overhaul the fire for an additional 90 minutes. The department responded with three structural engines, three ambulances, three chief officers, and two fire investigators. An additional engine from the Clarkston Fire Department responded per the automatic mutual aid policy.
