Lake Zurich police: Drunken driver disrupts firefighters during emergency

Hector L. Galindo, 20, of the 4500 block of West Ramble Road in McHenry, was charged Sept. 3 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol concentration greater than .08, improper lane use and following another vehicle too closely after a traffic stop on Route 12 at June Terrace. Galindo was issued a court date of Oct. 9 in Waukegan and released on $3,000 bond, police said. Nicholas J. Fortner, 37, of the first block of North Buesching Road in Lake Zurich, was charged Sept. 5 with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a crash, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle on North Old Rand Road at Route 12. Fortner was involved in a hit-and-run crash, police said. Fortner was issued a court date of Oct. 23 in Waukegan and released on $3,000 bond, police said.
