Firefighters battled a pair of blazes only a few blocks apart Saturday in south Oak Park, officials said, adding that “significant damage was sustained in both fires.” No injuries were reported in either fire, officials said, but residents were displaced. Then, a few minutes before 7 p.m., while firefighters were still at the scene of the Scoville Avenue fire, officials said another fire was reported at a three-story, single family residence the 700 block of South Elmwood Avenue. According to officials, because all Oak Park resources were committed to the Scoville Avenue fire, units from Oak Brook and Bellwood — already in Oak Park to provide mutal aid for the Scoville fire — responded to the fire on Elmwood Avenue.
