The Attica Fire Department responded to a call of a burning house at the corner of Union and Columbia streets shortly after 1 a.m. June 11.
Attica, Williamsport, West Point, and Mellott fire departments worked at the scene to extinguish flames and protect neighboring homes owned by Jessie Roberts and Charlie and Joyce Strickler.
The Stricklers’ home received damage from the fire melting the siding on the east side of their home. Roberts credited his son as being a hero during the emergency, running to make sure everyone was awake and safe between his and the Stricklers’ homes.
