An accidental explosion during a Fire and EMS training session injured two Oglesby firefighters and one EMT on Wednesday. At about 6 p.m., the Oglesby Fire and EMS Water Rescue Team was training at the canoe landing on the Vermilion River near Ed Hand Highway, the Oglesby Fire Department reported in a Facebook post. About an hour later, a rupture in an inflatable boat caused a violent explosion. All injured personnel were transported to Illinois Valley Community Hospital for treatment.
