A Monday morning structure fire at Crystal Lake Auto Body, 7218 N. Virginia Road, is estimated to have caused about $35,000 in damage, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department. Emergency crews arrived to the scene at 11:27 a.m. and reported a working fire with smoke visible from the roof. Occupants had evacuated before the firefighters’ arrival, according to the release. The initial engine company entered the business with a hose line followed by a truck company that deployed a hose line to the roof, extinguishing the fire. The sprinkler system activated and contained the fire from spreading elsewhere in the building. No injuries were reported, according to the release. Crystal Lake AAMCO, which shares a building with the auto body shop, took to social media Monday afternoon to let customers know there was no damage to its building, and they are open for business.
