A kitchen fire that erupted in a residence in the 200 block of West Washington Street caused about $10,000 worth of damages Tuesday morning, officials said.
Crews from the Oswego Fire Protection District were dispatched to the scene around 11:39 a.m. and were able to extinguish the fire within a few minutes of arriving, officials said.
One person was treated for minor injuries sustained in the fire and was subsequently released. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Personnel from the Plainfield Fire Protection District assisted Oswego crews in the incident, according to a news release.
