Members of the Williamsburg City Council got their first glimpse at the newest addition to the Williamsburg Fire Department’s fleet — a ladder truck. The truck, a 1999 Sutphen with a 100-foot aerial platform, was originally listed for sale out of Florida at $225,000, but the city was able to acquire it in July for a pre-budgeted price of $150,000. The city has been sorely lacking a ladder truck, which is crucial for fires at expansive and tall buildings.
