High winds caused fire to spread through a Northern Kentucky home early Friday, displacing three people, fire officials said.
Flames broke out in the 2400 block of Nordman Drive in Crescent Springs about 1:40 a.m., according to Kenton County dispatchers.
When crews arrived, they found heavy fire in the garage and the garage windows gone, said Crescent Springs/Villa Hills Fire Chief Jeff Wendt.
The blaze spread into the house, causing the first floor to collapse and onto the second floor, fueled by high winds of about 30 mph, he said.
Heavy smoke also challenged firefighters as they battled to knock down the bulk of the fire.
No injuries were reported, but the residence has sustained heavy damage, the fire chief said.
A damage estimate was not immediately available.
