A couple called Daviess County Dispatch late last night saying someone was trying to burn down their house while they were asleep inside. Daviess County Sheriff's Office said a resident of the 3900 block of Kentucky 764 called at 10:46 p.m. Aug. 14 reporting their house had been set fire from the outside. When DCSO, Daviess County Fire and Mason Volunteer Fire departments arrived at the Pleasant Ridge community residence, the husband reported he smelled something burning and got up to find smoke in the kitchen. He then went outside and saw the back wall of the home was on fire. He sprayed water while his wife called 911. Daviess County and Kentucky State Police arson investigators were called to scene and their investigation continues.
