One family is recovering after a house fire in the 5300 block of Pyrus Lane burned most of their belongings.
A neighbor says a woman came to her home Tuesday night asking for help as the fumes were building and her baby was still inside the home.
The neighbor said her daughter took a brick, broke one of the windows and they were able to get the baby out of the home.
"I’m very proud of my daughter for going over there. Not many people would go into a house that is burning and has black smoke coming out of a window, so I’m very proud of her," Mary Embry said.
Embry said the firefighters went in and saved the husband, who appeared to be fine.
