Officials are investigating after an explosion at a home near Elizabethtown injured multiple people Wednesday night. According to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, the explosion happened sometime around 11 p.m. at a house in the 3500 block of New Glendale Rd. Officials said at least five people were injured and one person was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. According to a reporter at the scene, there does not appear to be much structural damage to the outside of the house. One window at the front of the house was visibly broken. Investigators were searching inside and around the house through most of the morning Thursday. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
