Hopkinsville firefighters have been bringing holiday spirit and providing clothes, toys and gifts to families in need since 1996. They’ll continue those efforts this year, with a slightly different look, during the 24th Annual Christmas for Kids program.
For nearly a quarter of a century, Hopkinsville Fire & EMS has collected items outside of Wal-Mart Supercenter and distributed the donations with a community Christmas party for parents and their children. This year, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, HFD is asking local businesses and residents to “adopt” families by claiming a spot on the Christmas for Kids virtual angel tree.
A total of 50 families, chosen by Hopkinsville’s Salvation Army chapter, can be assisted through the purchase of requested needs, wish lists, clothing items and more.
