Natchitoches Parish Fire District 6 hosted a very successful First Responder’s Day on Saturday October 5, 2019 at Northwestern State University’s Collins Pavilion and practice field. The event was designed to bring together the general public and first responders from all over the parish, as well as state agencies. Everything was free to the public and the event featured up-close displays and demonstrations of equipment, educational materials, donated food prepared by the Brother’s Keepers Motorcycle Club, door prizes and live entertainment featuring Spencer Brunson. Chief Michael Sesvold stated, “It is important for the public to have the opportunity to interact with first responders in a positive way, so often we see people, and people see us, in their worst moments during their most difficult times.
